On Page SEO

There are two types of search engine optimisation, On-Page and Off-Page, this quite simply divides the factors which impact SEO into two groups.

Specific search engines focus on certain details of your site to decide on how high your site deserves to rank in the natural listings of their site, including Yahoo! and MSN. If you wish to rank high on these search engines, start to divert your attention on improving these factors to see what and where improvements can be made.

On-Page SEO factors can be changed by logging into the back of the website and amending certain features. As the content of your website is completely controlled by you, these On-Page factors are simple and easy to change when you know what needs to be changed and how. In contrast to this Off-Page factors cannot be directly controlled by anyone, there are techniques that SEO Specialists have found which are extremely likely to affect these factors although nothing can be guaranteed.

Examples of On-Page factors;

Compliancy to web standards

Page Titles, Meta Data

HTML coding techniques

Website Structure

Sitemaps
