Black Hat is the term used for unethical, SEO tricks which help increase ranking results but are not condoned by search engines. All search engine optimisation techniques can be placed under either the White Hat or Black Hat column depending on whether that technique is deemed as cheating or not.
An example of these unethical SEO tricks is cloaking, which means to write content on your website but the colour of the text would be the same as the colour of the background so it's invisible to users but search engines would crawl that content and rank your site based on it. Hiding your SEO factors from your users is part of Black Hat SEO and any website found doing these techniques will be penalised from the search engines. The website will be excluded from the search engine natural listings and it is extremely hard to build your website back up to regain any rankings.
SEO Junkies only ever use White Hat techniques in our search engine optimisation projects so there's no chance of your being penalised after work that we have carried out. We concentrate on SEO factors that are proven to increase ranking results so there's no need to try and use other techniques, look at our results table to see for yourself.
