The Benefits of Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a service provided by Google to measure the level of traffic diverting to your site. But it doesn't just highlight the number of hits your website receives, but also shows where the visitors are coming from i.e. search engines, pay-per-click advertisement, email marketing, and even hyperlinks within PDF documents, as well as showing which countries the traffic is coming from. It is also able to detect what parts of the website users are landing on, how long the users are staying on those pages and bounce rates. This is an extremely useful service, especially for marketers who will be able to tell what aspects of the market they need to focus on after the analytics will show what's working and what isn't, providing information to expand or ditch campaigns.

Developed to work with Google Adwords, it gives users the opportunity to optimise their current site by measuring the landing page quality and conversions, which may include sales, enquiries on brochure sites, downloading a specific file or even viewing a particular page.

A basic yet effective service, using Google Analytics is a great marketing tool to help contribute to get the best out of your SEO requirements. If you are looking to start using Analytics, you should also look into Google Webmaster Tools as it is another function that has been created to help you work on your SEO.
