Press Releases are usually written by online journalists about latest news, new products or a new company taking over a certain market. You will find that some companies do write their own press releases but they always need to be written in third person, and must not be seen to advertise that company although they can be mentioned.
Articles are more relaxed and can be written yourself in first person, and be advertising the company slightly, although you should find a compelling topic to talk about in order to attract users.
