With so many search engine optimisation companies around at the moment it can big difficult as to which one to trust. The main thing is to do your research into both the company and how they go about receiving the impressive organic search ranking results that they boast. If you are not careful, then you can find that the SEO Company you go with may do more harm to your website than good. Most SEO companies will go by the book and use ethical White Hat SEO techniques that will boost your search rankings without harming them. On the other hand, Black Hat SEO companies go out specifically to try and fool the search engines by using techniques that are deemed to be unethical.

White Hat SEO looks to optimise the website using industry approved methods such as creating quality and relevant content along with changing the URL tags. Meta description is also key as it adds relevancy, especially if the meta description has been changed to appropriately suit that particular page. Title tags also brings relevancy to the page and this is looked upon kindly if they relate to the keywords on the page.

Black Hat SEO companies may also use these techniques for a while but then turn to try and increase search ranks quickly. Such unethical techniques include trying to hide content on a page through making it the same colour as the background and creating fake pages on the site to increase content. Keyword stuffing is also frowned upon by the search engines as it isn’t creating useful and relevant content. All of these black hat SEO techniques can really harm the search rankings and can even result in being black listed.
