It is well-known that links are very important for search engine optimization, above all backlinks. But this doesn’t mean you should stuff your content with a lot of links that aren’t related to your content’s topic ant that make text not fluid and natural.

On every page you should have no more than three links pointing at three different pages. One link should address to one of the main pages of your website, the second should lead to the main subpages and the third should point to more specific and technical subjects. This means you can make your content easy to crawl and to index by search engines’ spiders, because they can clearly understand the main topic of your content without being confused by many links pointing to pages dealing with different subjects. Also, if in your content use too many links, search engines may consider those like spam and the risk is to be penalized by search engines. Finally, if your web pages, articles and blogs contain lots of external links the text could result not effective and fluent and so users won’t read your content and follow your links and therefore your copy writing efforts will be useless.
