
Twitter is one of the most popular social networks, which has achieved worldwide success thanks to its simplicity and immediacy. Since its foundation Twitter has grown dramatically, in 2007 the tweets posted per quarter were 400,000; in 2008 they were 100 million; by then end of 2009 they reached 2 billion and by February 2010 Twitter boasted 50 million tweets per day. During the first quarter of 2010, 4 billion tweets were posted! There is no doubt that these figures are enough to show why every company should have a Twitter account and incorporate social media in their marketing strategy.
