Social media optimisation (SMO) is a concept of using social media sites such as FaceBook, and YouTube etc to get your marketing messages across. There are several methods of SMO including adding an RSS feed, blogging and even incorporating online videos onto these social networking sites, discussing your company's services. SMO is indeed linked to Search Engine Optimisation and Internet Marketing on the whole. The idea is it will drive traffic to your website from other sources rather than the usual search engines and therefore increase online sales and brand awareness. You can even consider social media optimisation a form of viral marketing, i.e. where 'word of mouth' is created through the use of social networking websites instead of through friends.

Social Media optimisation is an important part of a Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM) strategy for any online company. For further information on SMO and to discuss your SMO strategy please contact us.
