Google Webmaster Tools

Google's Webmaster Tools helps you to analyse data which can be helpful for Search Engine Optimisation. It's very difficult to solve a problem when you don't know what that problem is so we do use many tools with SEO to track that the work we are doing is working and where more work needs to be done.

Webmaster Tools shows all of the web crawl errors that occurred on the last time Google indexed a website and the URL's on the content analysis to check for duplicate content within the main section of a webpage and also within the Meta data. Duplicate content can be very harmful to a website as it is likely to be seen as spamming which search engines will penalise a site for.

Other useful parts of this tool are;

-Top search queries this allows you to see which search queries most often return results from your website and which are most clicked on.

-Links Google can track how many internal and external links your website has so you could use this to decide whether a link building project would be beneficial to you or not.

-Sitemaps You can submit your website sitemap to Google which will contain all of the URL's for your webpages so that you know Google is able to index all of those pages that it might not find otherwise.

Register your site on Webmaster Tools to see the statistics for yourself, and then speak to SEO Junkies on how we can help you improve these figures.
