Make Your Meta Data Relevant

Meta Data is key to search engine optimisation and that includes updating page titles, meta keywords and meta descriptions of every page of a website.

The best tip when adding your meta data, especially the page titles, is to make sure that it's 100% specific and relevant to that individual page. Making those titles relevant to the whole site is good but not good enough. Search engines will crawl and index your site page per page, so you need to make sure that each page is important and will be relevant for some good search queries.

For example if you are optimising a gift site, using broad and generic keywords like this;

Makeup Boxes | Cameras | Perfume | Jewellery

Won't help you get any rankings for any of these keywords because they don't support each other.

Try using specific and related keywords like this;

Gifts | Presents for Men |Gifts for Women | Gift Ideas

Try to use different variations of the same words so it will show that that page is about those certain keywords and all of the content within that page is relevant to those keywords.
