SEO for Small Businesses

Many small business people grieve at how marketing is stacked against them as the big companies have the money, the contacts, and of course the brand name (marketing is for big businesses and not for them). However, with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) the small guys can compete with the big boys.

Several of the big companies lack understanding in Internet marketing and so a lot of the time do not appear for their relevant keywords. Therefore, this is where the SME's can strike. Pay per click (Google Adwords) mainly goes to businesses with plenty of money but with SEO it's all about relevancy and so anyone can be on Page 1 just as long as their website is optimised and they have an online marketing strategy in place. As SEO specialists we can help you out with this. We have often seen many large businesses being outranked by a smaller company, and sometimes even an affiliate for their branded keywords. This usually happens because of the smaller companies content and information on the product or service tends to be more detailed and keyword rich (without even trying).

So if you've been making excuses about how search engine marketing isn't for you, it's time to understand that any small business that wants to succeed in online search has the opportunity.
