Link building and achieving top placements in the search engines is often referred to as the 'Holy Grail' of online marketing. There are some general tips and advice on how you can do this via one way quality backlinks. A key factor to understand in order for you to improve your SEO techniques is that the web is content based so users are looking for relevant and quality content. If you can provide this type of content then your backlinks will build naturally. Users will see your content, think it's of a good quality and want to link to it; which is often referred to as link baiting.

However, you must be careful not to link to any link farms and always check the PageRank (PR) of any website or page you link to. If the page is relevant and has a PR2 or higher then it's worth having a link. There are several ways of getting quality links. For instance you could add your links to directories, join social media websites like MySpace and Facebook, and even use Wikipedia to build backlinks.
