Location aware search is for sure going to becom more relevant as more and more people start to search via their mobile phones. If the search engine knows your location then it can suggest places of interest close to you - wouldn't that be a great personal experience. It could work by you definiing where you are, for example 'I'm at home', 'I'm at the office' and the search engine has a list of addresses for these different locations, therefore being able to provide result based on that location. On the other hand what if you search for a product, for example a ' four poster bed'. Yes it's great to know which online shops sell this product but why not give the user more choices by stating there is a shop around the corner with that exact bed. Search is a valuable tool that every business needs to embrace whether your business is 100% online or has localised stores.
